A Homegrown Christmas Album Filled with Love, Friendship, and the Joy of Giving Back
About the Project
FROM RICH COOK:
Christmas has always been a big day in the Cook household. From the time I was a kid, Christmas was a day of magic and joy, full of laughter, traditions, and that unique warmth that only family can bring. As I grew up, it became my favorite day of the year - every year.
When I had children of my own, I passed that same sense of wonder and excitement onto them. Lisa and I make sure that Christmas was as special for them as it has been for me, building our own family traditions that I absolutely adore.
As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve become more aware of how precious time is, and how quickly it slips away. The thought of my own mortality weighs heavier on me now, and I’ve found myself wanting to leave something lasting for my children and their children, something that will help them remember me long after I’m gone.
That’s when the idea of recording a Christmas album first took place. I wanted to create something that could capture the spirit of Christmas, the joy it’s brought me, and the love I have for my family. I wanted to leave behind a piece of myself, a reminder for them that I’m still with them every Christmas, even when I’m not there in person.
The idea started ten years ago as a simple thought, but it didn’t really gain momentum until Jay came on board. Once he joined the project, everything changed. His enthusiasm and passion for the music was infectious, and he quickly helped transform what was once a seasonal dream into something tangible. Jay not only brought his expertise and vision, but he also helped recruit over 30 local musicians, each of whom brought their own incredible talent to the project.
I’ve been overwhelmed by the humility, kindness, and generosity of everyone involved. These musicians gave so much of their time and skill, without asking for anything in return, and I can’t express how grateful I am for their contributions.
I’ll never be able to fully repay them for what they’ve done, but their impact on me and my family will never be forgotten. My family’s contributions do not go unnoticed either. Lisa and the kids have opened their homes to this project for months. I thank them so much for all they’ve done.
Looking back on it all, I feel an immense sense of pride. This project has become something far greater than I ever imagined. Not only have I been able to leave my children something special, but I’ve also had the privilege of being part of a community of musicians who are incredibly talented and incredibly giving.
It’s been a joy to work alongside these artists and be a part of this local music scene. In the end, this album is more than just a gift to my family -it’s a celebration of the love, generosity, and connection that music fosters. And I’m proud to have been a part of it all.

FROM JASON COOK:
My friend Rich loves the holiday season almost more than anyone I know…and that love was all the incentive needed for me to partner with him in realizing his longtime dream.
I’m grateful for his trust in my vision, for the open door offered by his family, and for our shared goal of offering assistance to families in need (not just during the holidays, but in the lean months that follow).
I’m grateful to our extended family of local musicians, all of whom showed such eagerness to be a part of this. I’m grateful for everyone who listens to the album, and to everyone who donates what they can.
From our families (both real and musical) to yours…Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
